When independent galactic trader Ven Zaran tangles with a powerful crime syndicate, it’s not a question of if someone will die, only who it will be.
Ven’s successful career plying the hyperspace trade routes is cut short after he helps execute a sting that sends a syndicate leader to prison. In revenge, the syndicate takes Ven’s wife and children hostage and he is forced to run their dangerous and illegal cargoes. Being a trader is risky enough, but now if Ven loses a cargo it will mean the death of his family.
Under surveillance and unable to rescue them himself, Ven must pin his hopes on a group of friends who race to free his family from captivity. When Ven looses one of the syndicate cargoes and hasn’t heard from his friends, he is sure his family’s fate is sealed. He takes on the syndicate goons in a showdown to the death.

About The Author
;
Scott Seldon lives in Colorado with his wife and family in a house brimming with old and new computers. He is a student of technology, history, anthropology, languages, and cosmology. He turned his creativity to science fiction in his teens and has never looked back.
In his writing, Scott strives to create rich worlds and characters. Although his stories take place in the future, he often looks to the past to give his stories a solid background. He’s is more likely to watch Captain Blood than Star Wars to find inspiration on the feel of a story. He reads the latest titles by Jack McDevitt followed by C. L. Moore’s stories of Northwest Smith written decades ago with Les Miserables and the Princess of Mars next on his reading list.
